Just kidding. One of these days though. Currently 216 quincy 5hp pictures to follow but I am scheming on a 5hp IR single phase screw compressor at work. Used unit been sitting for a while. Pretty much a unicorn.

This is so ****! Love those curves :pimpflash Got video of it working?

Found this on Craigslist, close to me too. Guy had hardly used it,decided bodywork wasn't going to be his thing. He wanted $300.00. I had the nerve to ask if he'd help me load it, as I was by myself.....he said "sure".

60 Gallon American Industrial with upgraded 3 cylinder Puma PUK65 pump. Rated at 21.5 cfm. Craigslist find, been searching forever and almost pulled the trigger on a Puma 6060V, then saw this for not much more!! Can't wait to get it hooked up and see how she fares..

I picked this one up used on Craigslist. Speedaire (Grainger Name) 23.5 CFM @ 175 PSI. with 80 gal. tank. Speedaire is made by Champion for Grainger. The compressor originally had a 7.5 HP 3 phase motor on it. The person who owned it purchased the 7.5 HP single phase motor that is on it now and never finished the project. The motor alone cost over $900.00 at Graingers. I picked it up along with the motor starter. Working on wiring it now.

Here is my little air compressor. I use it to air up the tires and blow off dust around the garage. What I really like about it being under the tool cart is that I can roll it around. I typically put my miter saw on top and roll it out into the driveway and then I have some compressed air right there to blow all the saw dust away.

Would love to see some of the ones you work on, if it isn't against the rules!

This is one I was working on last week, 1952 Brown-Boveri, 6000hp. 23,000cfm @ 100psig.

This is not the biggest machine we have....

Does anyone here know the cfm and pump rpm/hp for a old champion 80 gallon with a ren14 pump. Found one on Craigslist that needs some work is leaking oil but already has a 5hp single phase motor. I may get it if the quincy 325 I've been trying to get to for weeks sells... can't stand not having a truck anymore..

Model # is tuv57

Google searches return this unit as a 3hp compressor, so it will not be putting out the same amount of air as a 325. It looks like an older, all cast-iron design.

When we were selling Champion back in the 90's, their brochure stated at that time that they would still build their pumps as all cast-iron if the customer requested it.

I was thinking that the ren14 was the older Version of the r15 champion pump they now offer. I read somewhere that it the ren7,10,14 produced between 7cfm and 19cfm so I was assuming that the ren14 was the big bad boy as it listed 5hp. From the picture it looks to have a big bore and stroke like the R15. Only issue I've found is that they don't produce parts for it anymore.

To the guy aboe with the champion that looks like a ren-10 model which is prolly 3hp and around 8cfm @175 I believe I read

Here's some air compressor I restored a emglo gt with a 8in pulley and 5hp 184t frame Weg motor making 21.5cfm @125 and 18.4@175. Next was a Rolair k25 making 13 @125psi. Then my first compressor 1984 sanborn single stage v-twin,1hp. Sold all of them and made enough money to now buy a quincy 325/saylor beal/kellogg compressor. That emglo was a great compressor it could fill that 60 gallon tank to 175psi in 5 mins 30 seconds with a 8in pulley on that big weg motor

Could be. It looks a lot like some of the older Dayton branded stuff from Grainger.

Took awhile but I found valves for the Champion RE-10.When I took manifold off there was a copper crush below valve.Should there be a copper crush on top of valve, between manifold ?New valve kit has copper crush, silver(aluminum) crush.Does the silver one go between valve and manifold ?
I changed oil in it and it spins smooth but might need new bearings. And it leaks.
I saved it from going to the dump. The owner gave me the newish 2 hp for $25. It's on a 120 gl propane tank.It did pump even with valve springs half gone.

I wasn't planing on buying a new compressor, but my original Quincy QR 325 ( in an earlier post) tank sprung a leak over Thanksgiving, and I was starting to get nervous as to what was next with the old boy, especially since I noticed the rear seal had started to fail again after 2 years. I was originally going to just replace the tank, but the place I got the tank from gave me one heck of a deal on a new tank, new 2 stage 2 cylinder pump, all the fittings, and the belt guard for half the cost of a complete new one, and since the motor and all the electrics on my Quincy were replaced a couple of years ago, I just used them on the new one. So basically I came home with an un-assembled compressor kit.

Here's my new 2 stage compressor I purchased from Air Compressors Plus. The pump is made my Castair in northern Minnesota. I'm running it at 792 RPM with a Baldor L1410T motor good for a max FLA of 26.5, but the actual load is 21-22 amps at it cut out pressure of 175 PSI.

Specs:
17.5 CFM @175psi at 767 RPM

My new compressor.I weakened 2 of the 3 cylinders on my old compressor by letting it run too long using the sand blaster. It said 100% cycle duty and only ran for maybe 30 mins straight but it still damaged the reed valves. Its was a Kobalt 5hp 3 cylinder rated at 19.5 cfm at 90psi.I emphasize (RATED).After a ton of research I settled on this one and so far I couldnt be more satisfied with its performance. Noise level is quiet high though but with its output 29.9 at 90psi it runs very little so it really hasn't been an issue so far.The electrical needs had to be upgraded and that cost almost half of the cost of the compressor itself. The black hose reel is for filtered air used for painting, sand blasting and the plasma cutter. The red hose reel is just straight un filtered air used for blowing out the shop, filling tires or whatever doesnt require running the air dryer. It was a learning process and I spent more money than I intended but like the ole saying goes, good aint cheap and cheap aint good.

Nice setup and nice compressor!

How much was the electrical work, I am wondering that myself.
