OK. There are a lot of PVC police on this website, so be careful!

I am glad to hear that you are going to replace it for safety reasons!
PS: And you need to place a replacement picture when you are
done doing that. LOL :D

The cfm listed in the pump literature was quite high. I didn't expect to get 21cfm with a 3hp, but I was hoping it was in the high teens. It ended up at 13cfm from 0 to 120psi, then 12cfm from 120 to 140psi, which is about where you would expect a 3hp to be. Overall I'm pleased with the results. Still need to clean the tank up and paint it.

T that chart appears to be for CFM displacement which is the theoretical volume without corrections.
Here is a webpage that helped me understand the difference.

This little guy is approx 23/24 years old, it died yesterday, I left it plugged in when I left my barn, it had a small air leak and must have cycled all night long, will get a small replacement today or tomorrow, need to finish framing my barn walls.

Ignore the wiring job as it was just to make sure it still worked but here is my Kellogg American compressor. Hope to restore it at some point.

Here is mine: 15.3 acfm, two stage. She's a little loud at 3,500 rpms or so, but it does the trick. I'll probably end up boxing it in and venting it outside.

This is the heaviest draw I have. It has a 45 cfm tip. The compressor does alright, but more cfm would definitely be good...

What's up Darrell? Hope things are good. Love the old compressors. I used to have one, but it just didn't kick out enough cfm for me.

This my new to me Atlas-copco. It is direct drive with a 5 hp Toshiba induction motor that has four capacitors. The compressor is 24 cfm and I believe an 80 gallon tank. Runs smooth and quiet. Just temporarily running it on a welder outlet until I get the walls finished and painted.

Just picked this up the other day. Found it on craigslist. Had been trying to find an older IR, Quincy, other decent brands, but could not find any for a long time. Its a 2011 year compressor. Ran good when I looked at it. Got it for $500. Now I just have to get other goodies for it and hook it up at home.

so my only compressor recently gave out and i asked around if anyone had a compressor they wanted to sell, and i went up to a friends shop and i noticed they had a gas powered compressor outside with the compressor and the motor itself wrapped up in plastic. i asked them if they wanted to sell it and they didnt even know if it would run anymore because they said it has been setting outside for a couple of years. my friend let me bring it home and see if it worked and said to offer him a fair price. all i had to do was clean the tank and the carburetor and it fired right up, i checked the oil and the tank for moisture and it was in good shape other than the paint had faded and the two drains for the tanks had been broke off at some point and been replaced. anyone know of a fair price to give?

as far as i can tell it was a ridgid 17048 8 gallon, and the pump was replaced with a schulz msl-10 max with 6.8 cfm at 930 rpm.i figured if i could get it at a decent price i could restore it a bit for a small project. any advice or info would be appreciated.

Since you got it as-is, and you did the work on it (which would have cost $50-80+ at most small engine shops) I'd say throw them an offer of $100. If they let it sit outside for a couple of years, it doesn't sound like they valued it very highly.

As if my leroi wasn't enough, I brought this baby back to my house today. 120 gallon 4 cylinders 2 stage with the 447 devair/devilbiss pump. Yeah...i've wanted a 447 for a while.

IMG_0767.jpg

I've almost completed the rebuild process of the pump, for all devair 447 **** you can watch the videos I made as I rebuilt it. Anyhow, here's the playlist on my channel :
Oh yeah.
People often question the need for the 247. Same foot print as any other 80g and can be found used for the same / cheaper than most China made Comps.

People question the need for a 247 devair but people questions your sanity when you buy a 447 !

Anyways, Im uploading the reassembly up to the heads at the moment.

A couple of days ago I posted about my 80 Gallon AMP compressor that I bought for $150. I am happy to say that I discovered that my compressor is a rebadged Saylor Beall model VT-PL-730-80 and made in 1995. Here are pics of mine and the Saylor Beall. I am ecstatic because this means I can get parts and this is a great quality compressor. This will be an especially HAPPY Easter for me.
Joe,

Unlike Wilton bullet vises, you can easily tell if it's clone or not, these compressor is kinda hard to figure out. The dead give away is the aftercooler, because the real one does not have it (just a copper pipe to tank)

Generally, if it's a Saylor Beall unit, it's their own brand. The one you have is a Chinese clone and fortunately, there's probably more parts available online than the real deal.
The SB model is actually VT-735-80 (Vertical Tank - 705 splash lube pump - 80gallon w/ 5HP)

VT-PL-730-80 is Vertical Tank - 705 pressure lube pump - 80gallons w/ 3HP

Actually running horsepower of that unit is probably 1 - 1.5 HP, and it puts out approximately 4.5 SCFM @ 90psi (just a WAG from the picture and my extensive craigslist background).

Impact will run OK for short bursts with recovery time between, any nailers will be fine, but die grinders and cutoff wheel? Not for very long - a few minutes at a time at most and then you will have to let the unit catch its breath. If you have a big job, you're going to want something bigger.

That unit looks to be an pneumatic HVAC controls compressor used in a commercial building. It's probably set for 80psi ON and 100psi OFF.
