Looking to grab a decent first compressor. This popped up locally. Has a 5hp 3 phase motor on it (Newman, made in the UK) so I'm wondering if the compressor unit itself is half decent based on what appears to be a quality motor unit.

Can anyone recognize the pump? I've been focusing on Champion/Saylor Beall/Quincy units but things are a bit slim locally. With a new kiddo in the family a long drive to pick something up isn't ideal.

Cheers,

Maybe an older Rol-Air? That's my first instinct especially given the tank color

It does look like an older Rol-Air Two Stage pump and the motor pulley size appears about the same as my Saylor Beall and most likely 1725 rpm motor vs the 3450 rpm they are using more today.

Rol-Air are really pretty good compressors for being splash-lubricated reed valve units. I might snap it up if I were you.

...says the guy who passed up a Rolair to buy a ridiculously heavy Curtis D96

Probably would have grabbed it but the seller is unresponsive on Facebook and didn't post a phone number. 🤷‍♂️

I'm now considering a ridiculously heavy Quincy 350. 🤣
