Compressor safety valve, switch questions

I've got a 60 gallon compressor. Made by Campbell Hausfeld. Tag indicates it was made in 2006. The cover for the pressure switch cracked, so I need to replace the whole switch (can't find just the cover). The only data plates on this unit are the red stamped one on the tank and the sticker on the motor. I'm pretty sure this was one of the Home Depot Husky units....but it's nice enough. USA motor, pump, etc. Bought it used around 2010. The model sticker and all that wasn't on it.

I'm trying to identify the proper switch for it. Entering the number off the switch housing I have now (DK641300AV, D-59320, and LR59232-3 are various numbers on stickers on the plastic housing) I'm directed toward a Condor MDR11 with more than a few variations listed on their website.

Here's what bothers me: The tank tag indicates a max working air pressure of 150 psi. When you find these switches for sale, some of them indicate a cut in and cut out psi of 120/155psi, respectively. Moreover, the safety valve installed on my compressor is @175psi.....Shouldn't the safety valve be more like 165psi?....(Max Working Air Pressure + 10%) FWIW, this compressor normally shuts off right at about 150-155 psi, no problems.

I think I have a four port switch. What did you replace the switch on your 60 gallon Husky compressor with? Shouldn't it be under the max rated air pressure? How about a safety valve set 25psi above the tank max? Is that normal?

most switches are adjustable for cut in/cut off pressure. they are pretty universal really.
just be sure you get enough ports ( or more and cap them off) and a switch with an unloader .pay attention to amp stats too . I wouldn't worry about the safety.

25 over is about right. It doesn't need to be perfect. Kind of like a circuit breaker.

I had gotten the same tank and motor a few years ago and added an Eaton pump, The pressure switch I bought kicks on at 100psi and off at 130psi (max psi for the pump). The pressure relief is a 150psi. I dont remember which pressure switch I bought other then it is made in Taiwan not china (selling point), it is adjustable.
Unless it affects the operation somehow, I agree about gluing the cover.
