I have one compressor (a Devilbiss 30 gal 3.5 HP). I oil my tools manually by putting oil into the air fitting of the tool before using the tool each day.
Can I assume that some of the oil goes back into the hose? Obviously oil would be very bad in a hose used for painting, so I have separate hoses for oiled tools, and for paint guns.
I need some extra hose length for an upcoming job. (No off-color jokes, please.) If I attach my 'clean' hose to the compressor, and then my 'oil' hose to the end of my 'clean' hose, do I risk contaminating my clean hose? (Remember, I don't use an inline oiler, so that oil would have to crawl back 25 feet through my 'oil' hose to get to my 'clean' hose.)
Also, is there any way of "cleaning" a hose of oil, if you suspect contamination? Or do you just buy a new one?
Any other advice on how to keep air tool oil (or any oil for that matter) out of my paint jobs? Had some dreaded fisheyes in my last spray job; was probably oil or silicone on the surface, but you never know...would hate to be throwing oil through my gun...
