I had a drive poured last Wednesday, six days ago. It is 3000# mix with a 2% accelerator, supposedly at least four inches thick. The guy who poured/finished it said wait 2 days to drive on it. Reading around I found the least amount of time suggested was 3 days. Most said a week so I wanted to wait a week. There is stormy weather predicted for tonight and I'd like to get my car and pickup under roof.

The surface has turned from mostly gray to mostly white with a few small spots of gray left. Does the surface color indicate anything about the degree of cure?

Any opinion about parking a 4200# pickup on it after 6 days?

Thanks for opinions from those with concrete experience.

6 days old. you're fine. I've parked on 3.5" 32 mpa 2 days after the pour with 8K truck.

You should be good with 6 days of cure time. I would have serious concerns with only waiting 2 days on a 3000# mix. Here in Iowa, the standard strength for any kind of flatwork is a 4000psi mix, and I advise people to wait 5-7 days. The air temperature and other weather conditions determine how fast concrete cures out. When the color changes to white, it is really only showing that the surface is curing, not the full depth of the slab, but it is a good sign.

Thanks for the replies.

Bad weather in some areas last night, but it missed us.

Count your blessings.
