So, I've been lurking around on this forum for about a year absorbing all kinds of great information. I am getting ready to start on an addition to my current garage. So far I have received one quote for the installation of the slab foundation. (Still waiting for the other contractors to come out and give me a quote). The specs are a 23x20 slab, 4" deep, 2 2x2 sections @ 6" (for a 2-post lift). This is what the addition will be constructed on. In addition, I asked for a 15x20 section @ 4" to be poured at one end of the foundation for outdoor storage (parking). The contractor said that he would do the job for $7300, including rebar and a moisture barrier. Can anyone tell me if this sounds reasonable? My neighbor is a retired builder and he thought the quote sounded a bit high. Just trying to get a feel for cost before the other two contractors come out. BTW...I am in Charleston, SC.
Thanks,
