There putting in fiber optic in our neighborhood. Some of the concrete driveway approaches were damaged & were replaced today. They told our neighbors that they could drive on it tomorrow.
That seems too soon to me but I am no expert on it.

Can you drive on 1 day old concrete?

Depends on a lot of things.

What size, what mix and what is the expected traffic?

It takes 28 days to get to design strength. They're usually walking on it a couple hours after pouring to brush it. I wouldn't drive a vehicle on it after a day. I bet you would leave tire marks after only a day

No big deal for a small area, particularly if its the City's concrete. (not yours) https://renovated.com/concrete-curing-time-chart/

The concrete will reach 15% of its 3000+ psi compressive strength in 24 hours. (So, 450 psi.) The pressure your car will put on the concrete will be around 30-40 psi.

That being said, at 450 psi, the concrete will be weak against dynamic loads. So, if you want to treat it kindly you can:
- Drive slowly over it for the first week (until it gets to 50% strength)
- Don't slam on the brakes or anything like that on the new concrete
- Avoid heavy vehicles and machinery
- No kids on pogo sticks

(The above article and many others will recommend waiting 7 days until the 50% strength point, but I don't think that intends for things like entire driveways. Something like a sidewalk ramp should be fine if you are careful.)

How much approach was replaced? 5' give or take? I wouldn't drive on a one day old driveway. But to drive over the street approach is a bit different....

Fiber optic? I'd expect something on the order of 6-18 inches. But it depends on who made the trenches.
