local code and electric company may dictate diameter....

here in TN,per the local utility (sub TVA) an underground feeder has to be Schedule 80, buried 2.5 ft or deeper, or incased in concrete with 3' sweeps and 2.5" minimum diameter for 200 amp service. 400 amp has larger diameter, deeper burial and wider sweeps

YMMV

Local codes for state / city will apply. Where you at ??

Now would be good time to Update GJ Profile with City / State. That way you'll get the best advice.

By NEC you'd be okay with 1-1/2 inch. But I highly suggest at least 2 inch. Also Sch40 PVC is okay below ground and Sch80 PVC for above ground where exposed that the conduit may be subject to damage. Also 18 inches of cover is required for buried. Do check with your local authority for any variation they may require.
