Considering Post Frame vs Stick Built, siding question

I'm designing a 24x30x10 to fit on my modest suburban lot right next to my house.

I'm currently working through all of the pro's/con's of Post Frame vs Stick Built construction, and I'm hung up on the siding. To match my house and to appease the HOA, I have to use wood panel siding. With Pole Barn construction, will I run into any issues with 4x10 panel siding using the 'bookshelf' girts? And this may be a really stupid question, but with either method do I need to run OSB sheeting on top of the studs/girts or can I simply Tyvek the exterior on top of the studs and then install the wood panel siding on top of that?

If you stick frame your garage you will need sheathing. Your siding choices are then unlimited.

If you post frame with book shelf style girts you need to keep in mind your post spacing. The seam of your 48 inch wide siding needs to break on a post for rigidity. You can sheath a post frame but the extra cost will put you close to stick frame.

I did the same price excercise for a similar sized garage. Post came out basically the same as stick when you add siding and asphalt shingle roof.

But you get concrete in the ground rather than wood.
