Obviously its a Camel de-nackering tool, .....
this tool superceded the use of a pair of house bricks in 1904! During a demonstration of how to use the age old brick process, while standing behind the camel, a young female observer asked the Chief Castrator..." OMG ! doesnt that hurt?', to which he replied...." only if you get a finger caught between the bricks!"

They are laboratory tongs. The turned down tips mean they are crucible tongs. They're also used for flasks and beakers.

crucible tongs is correct :)

I found from Google Books, a 1909 catalog that these sold for $0.85, while the standard tongs (that were bent, not bowed as well) were $0.75

I was thinking they are for getting baby bottles out of boiling water. But, since glass baby bottles went out with cloth diapers, I think that this dates me.
