:+1: to what RayJay said, they still make similar tables for industry, manual and powered. Using that for a welding table hard would be like using a beautiful old dining room table for a glue up bench. :willy_nil

Not a welding table at all, could be used for that...

its a table for laying out type set on a old letter press its called a turtle," small [but very heavy] metal tables mounted on wheels

I Have about 4 to 5 of them here

Jeff

This is correct!.......I have one in storage And was told they were used in the printing industry....If memory serves mine was made by a company called "gross" or "goss" something like that. very solid but small.

I talked to the guy today. I think I'm going to pull the trigger and grab it this weekend. He's sending me his paypal info so I can send him a deposit.

I WILL use it to weld with. Not big stuff, but smaller projects. My larger welding table is a ***** to move around. This will be more portable.

A piece of antique furniture is a little different than an antique tool table. Even though it's intended purpose was not welding it's still meant to work on. My wife would choke me out if I tried to work on ANY table in our house (antique or not).

I'd be all over this if I had the room http://cnj.craigslist.org/tls/4274041994.html. Someone on here grab it please!!!

Thanks for the heads-up. I contacted the seller, said something about some out of state guy wanting to give him a deposit or some nonsense like that. I told him I could pick it up tomorrow cash in hand and he said he would tell the other guy to piss off. Thanks. I can't wait to get it.

I hear ya Outlaw. I guess I needed someone else to kick me in the ribs and get the rodeo started.

I grabbed it today:rocker:. It was a rainy a$s day in the northeast, but my 2 y/o son and I still went for the trek:3gears:. The guy said he was getting flooded with calls, and even though I've had that motivating tactic used too many times to count in the past, I actually believed him. New York City isn't too far away (as well as Philly), and the "hipsters" love this stuff. Only difference between them and me is they would put a fern on it and roll it into their posh bedroom while I'll put my DP on it and put it to work:).

The ability to crank it up and down is absolutely awesome. Not only des it work almost effortlessly, it gives you the ability to move your work piece to different heights which can help out in so many ways.

Here's a few pics of it at my father-in-laws. The last one was just for fun. That vise is almost as purdee as the table it's sitting on:D.

very cool and like your plan to put the drill press on it. in case you really do want to do your welding on it maybe by a thin piece of steel if you don't already own one to cover the table and just dial in the height.

when you first posted it I looked twice to see where it was because with wheels on it I could use one and not for a fern.

I hope you are able to repair the Parker too and a great looking pair they are.

Just keep your body parts clear of all of those gears, and all is good...haha. You just don't see exposed mechanisms like that anymore. Safety Schmaftey!

Seriously, that's sweet. I always get tired of hunching over to regular bench height. That should do nicely.
