I could swear Ive seen a tool over the years (not the airlift coolant refiller) that puts a vacuum on a cooling system, And (supposedly) allows you to pull a lower hose or etc off of an engine without coolant spilling all over you.
Granted, The concept seems like it would be flawed and if the pressures weren't right, Youd be unexpectedly taking a bath in coolant... But I thought I had seen it in tool catalogs.. And now Im trying to find it and Cant.

Again.. Im NOT talking about an air purge/air lift type of tool. We have one of those

I've heard of something similar to this being done with motor oil. (Like replacing the drain plug without losing all the oil). But can't remember the link.

In the ag world we use a shop vac to put vacuum on a tractors hydraulics to open the bottom of the case. Then use the vac to fill buckets, your dealing with 30-60 gallons fluid.

This looks almost identical to the Mac kit I have, love that thing. It saved me tons of time and coolant. I'd keep a 5 gal bucket I'd mix coolant in 50/50 and whenever I needed to refill a coolant system I'd pull a vacuum, make sure it held and then stick in the hose and let the coolant system fill itself. One of the handiest "gimmick" tools I've ever bought.

That’s different. Your tool is just a coolant filler. The one above holds suction on the system so you can open it up without losing coolant

Huh, I never tried doing that with mine but I don't see why it couldn't. I only ever held a vacuum on an empty system but I don't see why it couldn't do so on a full system. It has a ball valve that should be able to do that no problem.
