I am in the market for a new corded work light. I have done a bunch of searching on the site and most of the threads on corded work lights are a few years old and many of the links do not work manly due to products changing i guess.
I have a number of flash lights that work great but for bigger jobs I find I am spending a ton of money on AA and D cell batteries. I have tried a few LED lights but I find the light to be very focused and not very good for under car work.
I am trying to stay away from rechargeable work lights as my fear is after 6 month or a year the internal battery will start to die.
I have looked at a few rechargeable lights and since I have a bunch of M12 and M18 batteries I was thinking about either the M18 LED stick light or the M18 Lantern/Flood light. Not sure which would be better for under car work and again not sure if LED will give you the best light for working.
I have been mainly focusing on corded work lights however I noticed that Snap on has really reduced the number of corded work lights they offer. For whatever reason the Canadian site has many more options which are not listed on the US website. I found a few threads which talked about National Electric making the lights for Snap on but I cannot find very many Canadian dealers which sell National Electric products. Even amazon shows a lot of the products as not available.
Anyways, below are a few lights I have been considering and just looking for some others options:
Snap on (ECU325BK)
http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=all&item_ID=641116&group_ID=675948&store=canada&dir=catalog
Snap on (ECU415BK)
http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item.asp?P65=&tool=all&item_ID=641114&group_ID=675949&store=canada&dir=catalog
Mac Tools (TLF98220)
http://www.mactools.ca/en-ca/Lighting/Corded/TLF98220/Professional-18W-Angle-Light-with-1-Cord
Something from National Electric (model TBD)
Something from Bayco (model TBD)
Bayco has the best pricing but I am not sure if their quality is there as I have not used one of there lights before. I was hoping that going with a tool truck light the quality might be better and I am ok with paying a little more for the name if it is a good light.
