Ok. I used the search function for this one. Came up with the Cornwell tools **** thread. Not a bad thing, but not exactly what I am looking for.
I am sort of putting together a wish-list of sorts out of the catalog, because I effing can. Lol. Managed to chase down a dealer, close enough to me (couple towns over). The only truck that comes by my place of work is the Snappy truck, and he only comes by on day shift (I'm swing). While I like Snap On... I like all the truck brands, and for slightly different reasons. I also like plenty of non-truck brand stuff... because quality is quality.
I juuuust grabbed a Cornwell JR40H...long handle 3/8 drive with comfort handle. I *really* like it. Feels good. Chrome is nice. The action is great. For a non-rotohead, it's pretty bomb.
I have an affinity for longer handles (because leverage is my friend), and handles. Both my Snap On ratchets have comfort handles (both rotoheads), and so does my Bahco. After getting used to them, I really don't like not having them.
One ratchet that made my "wants list" is the TR4H, as this thread says. It's a long pattern, comfort handle, 1/4 drive. A bit over 9" long. Standard 30 tooth. If the action on it is as smooth as the JR40H, this seems like it would be a nice addition to the 1/4 arsenal.
Anyone have one? Any draw backs to it? The 3/8 ratchet is smooth, with what feels like low back-drag. I imagine that the finer tooth versions would have less. The older style coarse tooth stuff tends to be tough as nails though. I also have finer tooth ratchets in the box. Feedback, experiences, and opinions? I have more or less sold myself on it... why, or why shouldn't I snag one?
