**UPDATE** 5/27/14 post #47

Hello GJ,

I started an introduction page so forgive me if you saw some of this already. This will be my home base thread for My Corvette Garage. I will make updates here. I hope to learn a lot form you guys out there. I have really enjoyed all of your garages.

I really like seeing the different followings...some Ford, Pontiac, Chrysler, Benz, VW, Audi, BMW, or whatever your flavor I respect them all. Well I'm the Chevy guy, even my dogs name is Chevy  I've always loved Vettes since a young boy when my uncle introduced me to them.

I bought my 1978 25th anniversary corvette in '03 in near junk condition. Spent a few years restoring her to be a driver. Did the resto mostly myself. Only out sourced bodywork and paint. Otherwise I have turned every nut and bolt on that car.

What she looked like when I bought her for the low price of $2,500 but the body and frame were strait.

Some years later

In '07 I bought my first house that I'm still in today. I live with my girlfriend who is very supportive of my hobby.
The garage in '07 when I started.

I put in better lighting. Electrical outlets all the way around. And a ceiling fan.
The garage a few years later when I acquired my black 2007 Corvette.

2012 the Corvette Garage got a facelift...

Then I picked up my baby. A 1996 Grand Sport. Coupe # 322 of a 1,000 units built. After narrowing it down by optioned equipment, my car is 1 of 197. A true collector/show car with 13,570 miles on her.

To accommodate my thee loves I had a Bendpak four post lift installed by SAR Automotive from NJ. They were fare priced for delivery and install. Truly a good company:thumbup:

The girlfriend and I just did some organizing and rearranging. So this is the latest picture of my Corvette Garage.

Future plans are for Race Deck flooring but I still have to decide color and pattern. Wall mounted tire rack, better lighting, and storage for the landscaping equipment.

I hope you guys will give me your suggestions and opinions

It's that awesome attitude that makes the GJ such a great place to spend time! I have always had s soft spot for Vettes. Your collection speaks to me since it was the C3 that first caught my eye as a kid. I love the older Vettes too, but you have all of my favorites. Excellent work on the garage as well. Nothing like a little sweat equity to get the job done!

I'll be watching this one...

'14 Stingray, perhaps?

Nice collection! I recommend black and white checker pattern RaceDeck. With all three cars being different colors, the black and white checker flooring will look awesome. I am really happy with mine, the white tiles are a little harder to keep clean than the black ones, but that probably goes without saying. I don't mean to pirate your thread, just showing you how I did mine. The RaceDeck is awesome to work with.

You have a great space alraedy, the lift is awesome. Keep up up. I'll be following this thread.

Thank you, and Yes, after seeing and sitting in the C7 at Corvettes at Carlisle, I am sold. My girlfriend won't let me get one until model year 2015 :dunno:
I really love your garage. I'll be stealing some ideas from you. If you don't mind. Your thread on caring for the race deck really sold me on the flooring. Thanks.

Thank you for the suggestion and pictures of yours. I like the black and white checker look but I know I want a solid color floor. Maybe a blue strip around the border with gray or back center. Your garage is awesome tho:thumbup:

Does your girl friend pick one to drive every day or do you make her park her's outside?

She has a Toyota corolla lease so ya it's outside. Honesty I hate that car and I never drive it. She drives the black C6 but she is afraid of the other two.

Nice work Scotty, keep the pictures coming.

Thank you. I will....

Very nice garage and cars!

Thanks it means a lot to me to hear that.

Great job on your space thus far. That looks like a fun packed space. Race Deck will definitely be an awesome addition.

< ---------- My version of Corvette Wave

Love seeing a dedicated Corvette garage! But then I'm biased. ;)

If you do get a C7 and keep the C6, you will have to install another lift. But then you will have four generations! Three more to go!

If you trade the C6 you should still get another lift and another generation to have four. I'd recommend a C5 since C1 & C2 are very expensive. But then I'm biased. :)

Can't wait for Spring so that I can work on my own version of the "Corvette Garage."

How tall are your ceilings? You are giving me some bad ideas about my own garage if you do indeed have some <12ft ceilings.

Congratulations for a job well done!

Love the older cars! Having them, maintaining them, and enjoying them is a true act of love!

We currently have a red 88 and a black 79 Corvette, and looking for a 72-73!

When out on weekend outings, it's the older cars that catch everyone's eyes. People will come over and look at a C1, C2, C3 before they will look at a late model C5 or C6. Same holds true for other manufactures.

Well it's been a rough winter this year. Really slowed my progress down in the garage. Only thing I got done was move the overhead lights around to give me a few more inches of clearance for the car on the lift. Planning on getting the floor done this spring.

Funny because I just bought a 2014 stingray. My girlfriend gave in and let me get it. We are going to the factory May 9th to take delivery and drive it home.

My garage is 18.5feet wide X 20feet deep X 9.5feet high. Not sure what you mean HD9?

very nice scotty, thanks for sharing.
do you have a high lift kit on your garage door?
Ya I ran the door as close to the ceiling as I could get it.

Very nice space. It is always nice to see a fellow Corvette guy enjoying his collection. Keep up the good work.
Thanks it means a lot to hear.

Great job with the limited space! I really like all the vettes!
Thank you so much

Awesome collection of vettes!! But, I'm having a hard time believing that your ceiling height is 12' -5" high. From the pic it looks at best 10ft high. Judging by that "A" frame ladder in the background which looks to be an 8 footer...

Or else the roof line on a C6 is only slightly lower than a F150. Not to mention the 8' high man door.

Maybe he means 12' 5" to the peak of the roof outside?

Congrats on the C7. But you truly need a C1. Not to start any trouble but real corvettes had straight axles, trunks and visible headlights (just kidding)

Time for that second lift. We look forward to seeing the garage with the new Vette Inside.

Scotty I noticed that you have option BY8 on the front of that 78 vette

you probably already know its the corvette decorative license plate, believe it or not it was a option. I have the same one on my 79 vette and i didn't know it was a option until i seen it on the build sheet.

Thank you for the dimensions. The HD9 is a model of bendpak lift.

Oh okay. I didn't know that. Thanks.

If you're getting a C7 does that mean the C6 is going?

I don't know what I'm doing with the C6 yet. It's auto and my girlfriend wants to drive it.

You guys are so right. I had to go out and measure for myself. Just under 9.5 feet. I'm sorry I miss quoted myself. I actually don't even know where I came up with 12.5 feet. I kind of remember the lift installer saying that hight to me and I just got that stuck in my head.

Lol and they were the worst driving Vettes built.

Scotty, beautiful toys and toybox, sir!

Yes I knew it was an option because I know a one owner '78 pace car he bought new with that optioned plate. That's how I learned it was an option. When I bought my car it was in the boxes. It cleaned up well so I put it on the car.

Love the cars, and very nice garage...great use of space!

I have a 20x20 and want to get a lift, very helpful to see the pictures of yours. Looks like you have a good amount of space still to the right of the C6 for access:thumbup:
