Yeah, I should have bought this jack when I saw it late last year...

Now none of the Costcos in my area carry it and the nearest one is in the Tidewater area (I'm in NoVA)...

They're baaack!!! :bounce:

Guess in time for Spring/Summer. Picked one up from the Newington store for $99 + tax, cheaper than before IIRC. They had about a dozen or so remaining.

I got mine for $89.99 back in February 2011 at an Oregon Costco. Now the same Costco has it for $99.

Mine is still working great, must have logged at least 100 up/down cycles so far in the last few months. No problems whatsover.

Does the Arcan XL35 have metal wheels? I a read review on Northern Tool that said the wheels seemed to be made of plastic.

the rollers on the end are metal, the casters probably have some sort of hard urethane material for the wheels; this is typical and I haven't seen fully solid metal wheels for casters before.

I have the black model from northern tool and the wheels are 100% steel. No composites anywhere on the jack I can see. Just very large gauge steel. A 109lbs worth.. :rocker:

Are these jacks still available? I have found them on eBay, but they are priced considerably higher.

I am glad to hear they have all metal wheels. It was a review on Northern Tool's site where some said they had plastic wheels. I really did not believe them so I figured I ask here.

Does anyone know if Costco is still carrying these? I plan on calling my local store and asking it they carry these.

Here is the item number I have, that was listed earlier in this thread.
The Costco item number: 300930

if you have the box, all they need is to scan the UPC code and they can issue store credit. that's what they did for me when I didn't have the receipt but returned it in the box. if you don't have the box, but paid with your costco amex, they can search for the transaction based on your amex card too...

where is "local" ?

if you're not particular about the torque wrench you want and you're ok with harborfreight torque wrenches, i have coupons for them for $9.99, both the 3/8" drive (10-80 ft-lbs) and the 1/2" drive (20-150 ft-lbs). maybe that'll allow you to get the floor jack?

PT Doc,

Which Denver store? There are several down in that area. I live up in Longmont.

Also, are they the XL35R or XL35? Basically are they the red or black ones?

Quincy and wadsworth have them.

In case nobody mentioned it already, I've seen these in a couple of Phoenix locations. They previously had the aluminum racing jack by the same brand, but now they're back to the XL35R / red and black steel units pictured above. Looked to have plenty in stock as of this weekend.

no receipt, no box, no Amex, no problem. they searched the item# through my membership purchase history.

So I went and bought this jack. It is extremely nice. Lifting my vehicle is done with very little effort. There is no squeak that others have mentioned.

In fact others that have seen this jack are so impressed with it that I am heading back to Costco to buy a couple more for them.

Perviously, I had a Torin T83014. While it worked it was significantly harder to lift the vehicle. The caster wheels were extremely loose on their axles and would actual contact the side of the jack body. Then during mid lift it just stopped. It would not lift. It held tight, but would not go up. This was all within 25 full cycles. Luckily I got it from Amazon with a Prime account thus having free shipping. It was returned promptly. I am extremely glad it big break, because this Arcan XL35R is hands down a better jack. I trully would have expected to pay aroun 300-500 for a jack like the Arcan.

Congrats!

I saw several of these at my local Costco (San Diego, CA area) just yesterday. I'm sooooo tempted to pick one up, but I already have 2 floor jacks that still work. Maybe if I sell some of my tools that I don't need first....

Fellas,

I've been looking for a new jack and I don't think I can beat this setup for $100.00 but the costco website doesn't show this product on it... Can anyone confirm they have seen this item in a costco in Texas, San Antonio specifically?

Thanks!

Just give them a ring and ask if they have it. Somewhere on here the item is listed. I called my Costco before heading down.

You should be fine, you are not lifting the whole car.

3.5 ton = 7000 lbs (Small SUV weights around 5-6k)

Main problem would be it will not go high enough, since it's low pro-file design.
