My Costco had the red one on display, and about 5 in backup stock. It's made by CSPS, the same company that made my 56" x22" Stainless Steel Top and Bottom, which I *love*. I am looking for the narrower 41" model that they made if anyone has one they'd sell.
I measured the Costco one and it is only 18" deep. The top is a very poor quality wood - lots of color variation and wild grain. Not saying that it won't hold up, just don't buy it with the expectation that it's a solid Maple butcher block, because it is not. It *may* be renewable bamboo, which would offset much of my negative impression.
Finally, this box is NOTHING like mine in terms of construction and feel. The drawers can't be closed by pushing anywhere but the center, as there is too much slop and they jam. I didn't have a micrometer or thickness gauge with me, but the steel in the drawer seems to be VERY flimsy.
Now, to put all this in perspective:
I stopped by Napa yesterday and looked at the set they have on sale for $999. It's made by Homak, and - in my opinion - was complete junk. I wouldn't take the set for $400! The Harbor freight $99 four-drawer cart is MUCH nicer and more solid
I then stopped in Fleet-Farm today. They had a nice blue 'Homak PRO' roller-box that had a good feel to it and appeared to be nicely made, but it was quite small and they still wanted almost $300 for it. Plus, it had the stupid 'small drawer on top to large drawer on bottom' design. No thanks!
So far my opinion is that the HF 13-drawer is by far the best value for the money at $349 - and maybe even at $399.
Of course that's just my opinion, and YMMV.
