So I was just looking around on craigslist and happen to stubble on a year old triple bay mac box with stainless top and the hutch and LED lighting in the hutch. Listing was a month old and figured at the price he was asking its probably gone. Text him and asked if he still had it and if he did what his bottom dollar was on it. Well never heard back till the next day so i figured it was gone. Get the text back and says he still has it. He was asking $4000 so i figure since he has had it listed for a month and still has it i would see what i could get him down to. I text him back to see if he would take $3500, get a text back and says the lowest he can go would be $3750. I tell him i would like to take a look at it before i decide and that i could bring the enclosed trailer to check it out and if everything is good we can finalize the price in person. So i haul the trailer over and take a look at the box, this thing is brand new looking. Has the Mac liners in the drawers and had the hutch keyed the same as the box and everything. So i tell him im interested and it looks to be what im after but im really only looking to spend $3500. He stood pretty firm at his $3750, thinking since i took the trouble to haul a trailer over then he had me at that price. So i told him alright well if you dont get any calls on it in the next couple weeks and want my offer it will still stand. Guy changed his mind once he seen i was willing to leave and said he hadnt had any other calls on it so we settled at $3500. Had to remove the hutch to get it in the trailer since the rear door is only 65" tall and the box was close to 70". Threw our backs out getting the hutch loaded in the trailer and then blew both nuts out getting the box pushed up in the trailer. MAN that thing is heavy!! Havent had a chance to start moving all my tools into their new home yet but im just glad i will have one box that will hold everything. Got the box home and pulled the drawers to just check everything out and everything looks brand new and found a Mac bill in the bottom of the box and kind of figured out why he was selling the box. Looked like he was tring to get out of a Mac bill balance of around 16,000 at one time and was down to around 4,000 now. Just glad i happen to stubble across it and nab it up. I will take some more pictures once i get tools in the drawers. :rocker:

I don't know much about the newer boxes but that looks like a really slick setup. Good mix of thick and thin drawers for lots of storage. Enjoy it.

Very nice deal! Yeah - that is one super heavy ******. I wrapped one of those bases for a dealer here at my shop. Just rolling the thing around here at the shop was a strain. I was impressed with the quality of it. Here it is wrapped in camo.... not my personal choice but we are in the deep south here so camo is very popular.

That is a nice box. The Tech 1000 series are well made. I have had 2 of the orange ones and they sold quickly for me. You will be happy with the box and you got a good deal!!

Mixman,
that wrap job looks outstanding. Can you tell us what you charge for a wrap job like that?

Well I have Twin boys who are racing MX and are riding KTM 50SX. I like KTM for their little bikes but once we get up to the 250 and 450 bikes we will be going back to Honda's. Ive raced since i was 5 and have always rode hondas and have a 2013 crf 450 and the handling is so spot on. My shop here at the house i do alot of MX engine builds for all brand mx bikes. Also do alot of suspension revalving and can tell you that i absolutely hate KTM's WP suspension. I do alot of work with Showa suspension and really love the way they feel once you get them sprung and valved how you want them. So for now while the boys are on KTM's the color of the box is perfect. 10 years from now when we make the move to a 250 and 450 then who knows maybe paint the box or need a bigger one by then who knows. lol

I've got the same lower with a full upper box instead of the hutch.I reallydo like the room and the drawer layout much better than the SO flightline boxes that I had before.
For the money that is a nice score!

Thanks. :) I own a large format printing company. Vehicle and other wraps is one of our biggest specialties.

Depending on the artwork me might have to do something like a toolbox that size would be about $500 installed. That's high resolution (photo quality) digital printed and laminated with a very thick heavy duty protective laminate. That super thick lam does make it a good bot more difficult to install since it is so thick but for something like this the added protection and durability is worth it.

I don't care much for Mac stuff, BUT at that price I certainly wouldn't hesitate to bring it home and get the most out of it. (and like it) :D

Enjoy

Your call, but I've long said that the Tech Series boxes are one of the best kept secrets...excellent quality. Honestly I'd prefer to have MAC boxes, but at the prices I'm getting new KRL's for.....i'll learn to live with the KRL's.
IMHO, the Macsimizers are a work of beauty...

Ive had a couple different SO boxes and have a buddy who has a tech series so i knew alittle about them before i got this box. All I know is this box is just as nice and just a sturdy as both KRL boxes i had. Only thing i would change is to a set of the spring loaded casters to help keep the box level on uneven concrete. Other then that i like the adjustable detents and slides seem smoother then my snap on's where.

Well spent a couple hours out in the shop today and got a start on moving stuff into the new box. Only got about half my stuff in there and decided i wanted to order a few different organizers to help out a few drawers. Here is what i got so far. Still have a ton of sockets that need added to the socket drawer but i ran out of time.

They are nice quality and typically used can be a great value. And yes the Macimizers are great, I really like them. Krl's are great as well.

Nice box.

I pulled all the drawers out of the box when i got it to clean everything out real good and lube the slides and on that bottom box i forgot to add the other slides back on the box. There is four slides total for that bottom one just for got them when i slide that one in for the picture. Its back on the box now.
