i should also note i still need to grind the table and chuck in .

i dont know exactly how to do it , so maybe some one can help.

or im sure i can research and find more info on that subject as well.

- So much to learn

Grinding the chuck is straightforward. Without running down to the shop, I like to use a CGW AZ60I wheel on mine, which appears to be close to what you have mounted.

1) Check your chuck with some blue and make sure it contacts the table evenly. Correct any major issues between the table and the chuck. Grind in the table and chuck base if necessary.

2) Oil the mating surfaces with a good rust preventative and secure the chuck to the table.

3) Set the magnet to the "on" position and grind the chuck. A stepover of .05 to .1" and a DOC of a thou at the most can be used for roughing. A lot less f you're grinding dry. 60 FPM is a good ballpark traverse speed. On a 1' table that would mean it should tick like a clock. :)

4) Re-dress the wheel and use a .05" stepover and take a few .0001" passes to finish. On the final finish pass, keep traversing back and forth until the wheel "sparks out."

5) Done! Looking at the chuck from an oblique angle, it should reflect like a dull mirror.
