Just bought an older cp air hammer. The screw type retainer that it came with I cannot get most of my bits through, I guess since this gun was meant for air riveting. The specs on the retainer section are 1-1/8" wide on the outside of the threads with 1/8" thread spacing. Does anyone know where I could get a quick change retainer for it?

I have the exact same CP 4x Aero riveter.

I bought an Ajax 897 spring retainer. It fits the threads and allows for quick changing of bits.

I can get a few pics of it tonight if you are interested.

Yes, that would be great. How do you like the gun?

I like it. I use it at home for DIY projects so I don't know how it would be in an all day long pro environment, but it sure seems like it would hold up. Trigger control is awesome.

The spring works good for holding bits and I can change them out pretty quickly by pressing up on the little lever on the right side of the attached pictures.

The spring retainer was less than $3 so that was also nice.
