Craftsman 103.0103 Drill Press disassembly

I see some of you have restored your 103.0103 drill presses. Can someone give me some advice on removing the upper and lower brackets from the vertical tube? I have taken all the nuts out, but there is a pin holding them on. Should I just smack it with a BFH? I don't want to damage anything.

.0103 is a Bandsaw, .0303 is a drill press. Can you clarify which one you have?

That a Model 80 drill press, not a Model 100.

Actually, the Model 100 was originally listed as two different sizes. They then renamed it to the Model 80. So depending on year, it could be named correctly.

Either way, hope it goes to a good home!

Edited to add catalog clip of a two handle listed as "100" series. 1949 catalog.

The 103.** numbers indicate it was manufactured by King-Seeley of Ann Arbor MI (later Central Specialty of Ypsilanti MI.) for Sears.
