I've had a 19.2 Craftsman C3 set for years, and the NiCad batteries finally died. When I originally bought the set, I had gone to Sears to replace the then-dead batteries in my 18 volt Craftsman set...but found them to cost almost as much as another new tool set. The salesman that day convinced me that I should just buy the new 19.2 set, since it would accept Lithium-Ion batteries, which I would be able to buy to replace the 19.2 NiCad batteries when needed.
So recently I went to Sears to pick up 2 Lithium-Ion batteries, only to find that I would need to buy a new charger also. 2 batteries and the charger kit was so expensive, that the salesman suggested I should just buy a whole new tool kit...again!
I went home frustrated, with no new batteries, and just used my Milwaukee set for a while. But I need to quit procrastinating on this. So I thought I would seek guidance from the well-informed people of Garage Journal. This thread was perfect for me.
So now I suppose I will add to my Christmas wish list two XDP 19.2 Lithium-Ion batteries and a charger.
Thanks, guys.
