Sears will warranty it but i wouldn't unless they could give me a made in USA one that I thought was comparable. That V code is good.
Some Sears will give you a rebuild kit if they can, if not, you could ask them to rebuild it while you're in the store so you can get it back.

I believe that sears normally carries the rebuild kits for those, instead of warranting the whole ratchet. If so, they should give it to you for free.
Seeing as how their 3/4" demand is very low compared to the other 3 smaller sizes; your chances are good of finding older USA components on the shelf. My local sears has a heavy coating of dust on the 3/4 drive stuff. It hardly moves.
The thing is, you are missing the key components, cover plate included. Not sure how they will go about a warranty on that.

From what I have found the most recent part number for the repair kit is 44680. They seem to pop up from time to time on ebay if you feel like waiting for one. There is a listing on there right now for two of them for $49.50.

You got the ratchet for free? I'd bite the bullet, and just buy a rebuild kit if you can't get one from Sears. You're still dollars ahead. I have a spare rebuild kit in my box for mine, just in case.

I would figure the replacement will be China. Best bet is to get new guts via Sears in store or eBay
Right on. I'll probably just rebuild it myself if they won't rebuild it under warranty. Rather have a USA made one to be honest. And like you guys said I got it for free so buying new internals wouldn't be so bad. I like how it says Forged in USA.

My sears is funny about warranting any ratchet with missing components so funny, that they won't do it. Broken, no problem, missing anything, no warranty. 
Don't forget that you can also look for a repair kit under the older NAPA/KD/and Allen brands. Did you check Cripe?
It's the same ratchet across several brands aside from the handle shape.

A rebuild kit will do you now good with out the plate and two screws to hold the plate on. Go to your sears and see what they will do for you. Most likely they will still have usa made ones in stock, not a real fast mover. I not sure if the new ones have the quick release button.
Says the rebuild kit is 43449 for my 3/4" ratchet. Cripes has a gearwrench kit. Ratchet Repair Kit 81499. Taiwan kit but it's way cheaper. And I know K-D and Gearwrench have something to do with one another. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gearwrench-...156?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a6ab4aa5c

I think the Gearwrench repair kit is for their 3/4 inch ratchet head that takes a screw in handle. I don't think it will fit the US made older ratchet.
Gearwrench debuted under the KD brand and to this day are marketed under KD part numbers even though the KD brand is long gone.
You need older US made parts. I am shocked and amazed to see craftsman repair kits that cost a penny, 15 or so years ago list for $45 on ebay today.

Forget it. Every collector in the country is looking for CM USA 3/4" ratchets. I seriously doubt that you could find one just sitting on a shelf.
Got set up today. The 3 guys working in there were cool and had 1 in there that was refurbished USA made but it was a newer number than mine. I didn't push my luck and just took it lol. The hard handle screwdrivers must still be USA made since I've gotten a few warrantied that I ended up getting US ones. Then had a 6" quarter inch extension that was almost bent in a U shape they swapped me out for a new one too. No clue how it got like that but they took it.

Yeah I ended up comparing the tooth count on both kits. Was hoping they were the same because of the price difference. If they wouldn't had took care of me I'd bought that $45 kit on ebay. Woulda been worth it for a nice ratchet.

That is cool they got you taken care of. So what kind of jobs are you all doing with a 3/4" ratchet? I haven't had a job that required a 3/4", but I am not a professional wrencher either.

i just bought a rebuild kit for my KD. its the same as allen and napa as mentioned. it came with backing plate and new screws.

i cannot confirm if yours is the same as my KD, but they look similar.
From my experience, I've usually had to talk to a manager or a tool "specialist" to special order particular rebuild kits. I've had reasonable luck with doing that to date.
While most new C-Man stuff is Chinese, quite a few stores still carry USA rebuild kits. They will trade with one another to get customers what they need. You just have to wait a week or two.

More than likely won't use it at work with having Air power and working on tiny Hondas. I'd say I'd use it for stuff like Axle nuts at home. Even though I'll probably keep it at work since it looks good in my box lol.

Both Sears locations nearest me will not give you a rebuild kit, nor will they rebuild it for you. However, the do have rebuilt ratchets on hand to warranty. I just had a 3/4" one replaced myself last year. The handle itself was still the same USA made model I had before. As to where the rebuild kit inside it they used was made I have no clue. I didn't bother to ask because I doubt the person assisting me would've known either
Really? That is a little weird. Shoot I don't even have to get assertive/insistent to have the stores in my area special order the parts should they not have them. I've been told on multiple occasions that the Sears SKU system rings up each kit as $0.01.
About a month ago I a little distraught about finding out that C-Man hand tools haven't been made in the USA since 2012. I called one of the local Sears owners and was given 2 ratchet repair kits for just about every ratchet set/size through QR through the current USA Premium Ratchet. I wound up with a few breaker bar repair kits and unfortunately a few Chicom-Man ratchets repair kits too.

Seems like warranty and access to kits is based on the preference of the store owner/manager, which isn't right.

Yeah. It's kind of annoying. Neither store seems to really care. The employees are there just to collect a paycheck and that's it. (Also why I've been waiting on 2 flat head tip sockets to be replaced for about a year and a half now)
I figure I'm lucky they even have refurbished ones to swap out with the busted ratchets. One of the stores even refuses to carry the premium grade ratchets in stores.
Agreed. Craftsman really has gone down hill. I have since moved on to Wright, Cornwell, and Snap On.
