Jeremy I will probably have the slide back out as there is a tight spot that I want to look at the screw for straightness. I'll definitely get pics when/if I do. I'm going to post a question on this over on the vise thread. If anyone has a suggestion I'm all ears.
Remove the leadscrew and move the slide in and out by hand. That'll let you know if any deformation is responsible on the slide. If that's smooth as, roll the leadscrew over a flat surface, (a sheet of glass or a marble slab are usually pretty much perfect flatness), with the ball overhanging the edge. You'll quickly see any bends. Various ways of straightening, ranging from a straightening press through to a wooden/rubber mallet, wooden blocks and good old arm power.
