Within the past year I purchased a Craftsman Carpenters Handsaw from a TJ Maxx.
It might have been a discontinued model at that point, but it had the newer Sears Craftsman packaging so it wasn’t that old a model.
I have no clue how it got there.
Ironically, the blade was made in Denmark, with an Italian made wood handle, so I presume it was made by the “Jack” brand from Denmark. The Jack Brand was purchased by Irwin Lenox a while ago, and then Stanley B&D purchased Irwin Lenox, and basically Stanley was making Craftsman branded saws that were being sold thru Sears, in competition with their own Craftsman branded tools being sold thru Lowes.
The saw was nice and cut well, and only cost me $6.
Unfortunately now I can only find the Danish made saws with rubberized handles.
