I was picking up a Craftsman 150 table top drill press to re-do and the guy asked me if I was interested in a old Craftsman band saw. I already have one, but this one had a slo-speed adapter on it. I was thinking of setting up my band saw for cutting soft metals so for $40 I figured another one as a dedicated metal band saw. I then came across a free period Craftsman work table for it. I did a clean up and lube on the band saw and did a quick set up with some old blade. Seems to work nice and slow. I'm not familiar with the slo-speed adapters but this one has two work pulleys, you'd just slide the motor over for normal speed or slo-speed. I have to buy a decent metal cutting blade and try it out. Not sure if most are familiar with this band saw option so here it is.

If that does not work out, you could do as this gent did, for the slow speed.

Probably what I'll do when I get around to it.

Thanks for sharing the links. I ran it for a good 5 mins and it ran fine. No idea how it would be under load but we’ll see. It’s just cool, I had to fool with it. If the belts break it’s all over. Thanks
