I have a 1966 Block grinder. 1/3 hp. I am going to replace the bearings which are New departure 77503, which I can't find. How do I go about ordering new bearings and are these deep groove bearings? Ball or roller? And should I go with skf or is cheap ok? Thanks for any advice.

Is there a reason you'd recommend ZZ over 2RS for this use? I'd think that 2RS would be less affected by the dust environment that grinders live in.

I tend to use the sealed versions myself, but I just posted the number of the equivalent original bearings.
The shielded versions do have less friction, last longer and the spool down time is longer, but I agee that modern sealed bearings are more appropriate for typical DIY applications.
