These sets show old-stock USA-made tools. I ordered two and not everything was as show in the picture, but I did receive a number of older USA-made stuff. I can comment on the two I bought, as for the others who knows where the tools will be from. They can always be returned, right?

These come and go, so some may say out of stock now but may come back. Also check the data sheet as some items have been discontinued and replaced with something else. It is listed at the end of the data sheet.

For the $35 code, add the item to your cart and then go here: http://usa.visa.com/personal/discou...d=197&merchantId=10500&merchantName=Sears.com click on the $35 off $300. Back on Sears.com go to your cart to see the discount applied.

Craftsman CLOSEOUT! 89 pc. Specialized Access Professional Tool Set $458.98 - 35 = 423.98
Thumbwheel ratchets, vise grips, and flare nut wrenches were non-USA in my set.

Craftsman CLOSEOUT! 204 pc. Advanced Access Professional Tool Set $407.98 - 35 = 372.98.
Vise grips, mini pliers, and files were non-USA in my set. Knipex made in Germany.

Craftsman CLOSEOUT! 189 pc. Specialized Essentials Professional Tool Set $407.98 - 35 = 372.98

Craftsman CLOSEOUT! 106 pc. Advanced Professional Tool Set $458.98 - 35 = 423.98

Craftsman CLOSEOUT! 83 pc. Fully Polished Ratcheting Tool Set $433.48 - 35 = 398.48

Craftsman CLOSEOUT! 198 pc. Advanced Essentials Professional Tool Set $390.98 - 35 = 355.98

Craftsman CLOSEOUT! 94 pc. Auto Specialty Tool Set $433.48 - 35 = 398.48

Craftsman CLOSEOUT! 130 pc. Professional Impact Tool Set $779.98 - 35 = 744.98 (I've seen this one cheaper)

Craftsman CLOSEOUT! 77 pc. Heavy-Duty Mechanics Tool Set $458.98 - 35 = 423.98

My 2 sets arrived thrown in brown cardboard boxes. Some items came in the packaging you would see in the store, others were loose or thrown in bags. I wasn't impressed with the packaging at all...

Should there not be understanding that a hot deal needs to be at least 10% off MSRP? This is sitting around 4-8.5%. Not that good of a deal.

I bought the 77 piece last week. Didn't know about the $35 off. Still a great deal. I was in the market for 3/4" drive metric sockets. For a few more bucks then I was going to spend on the sockets I end up waaaayyyyy ahead. All made in USA. The packing did leave a lot to be desired. 1/2 the stuff was loose in the box and the box was open. Was all there though.

Last week none of the codes would work on closeouts. I called and got them to refund the difference. Paid 485, could have waited.... Hopefully it doesn't go down too far.

I just now joined this forum simply to say thanks - I was contemplating one of these sets, and the $35 savings worked like a breeze and was what convinced me to pull the trigger yesterday. I stumbled across this thread in my google researching.

Quick update: just picked up my 189-piece Specialized Essentials set at my local Sears, and all of the tools are marked as USA-made with the exception of the 8-piece dual wratcheting wrench set, which was made in China. Good news - and no surprise regarding the wratcheting wrenches, as these were the lone item listed as a substitution on the parts list posted online when I made the purchase (for a discontinued 6-piece Extreme wratcheting set).

Yeah, I would have really liked the 77 pc heavy duty set for $307, but it seems they're all gone...

I have been collecting these sets, one/two at a time, for 3 years. I've always got them for at least 40% off list price. Sometimes on ebay, sometimes on sale at sears. When they would go on sale, the impact set was usually the only set that did not go on sale with the rest, or if it did, it was only 10% off when the other sets were 20% or 30%.

Right now, it is 60% off MSRP. If you have been eyeing that set for a while, now is probably the time to get it.

That is possibly the only set I will not be including in my collection. At MSRP, that set is overpriced (irrelevant during this sale). The selection of socket sizes doesn't suit me. A complete set of impact sockets in 1/2" drive really needs to go all the way up to 1-1/2". A smaller than complete set should still go to 1-5/16". Why this set stops ONE SIZE short of 1-1/8" is beyond me. That's an incredibly common size.

That said, if the socket selection is a match to your uses, this set is probably a great deal. As to whether this deal will be seen again...I would doubt it. I have no hard fact to support this, but I suspect they could be closing out made in usa sets of these items to make way for made in china sets of the same stuff. Or worse yet, just discontinuing them entirely.

Thanks, I just ordered the impact set. After MUCH research, it does seem to be a really good deal. I hope these swivel impact sockets are much better than Harbor Freight's. The first time I used a socket from my new metric HF swivel impact set it failed.

Something to BE AWARE OF . . . in the 189 pc set there are flex head ratchets and looking at those closely, they look exactly like the Chinese flex ratchets sold individually. And they DON'T have COO stamped in the steel. The COO is on the PACKAGING ONLY. You'll need a magnifying glass to see it.

Only the manufacturer's code gives it away.

I've been collecting these sets for several years. That kind of packaging is not a recent change, they've all come like that. The only one of those sets I've ever seen it what looked like something I would call "retail" packaging was the first one, the 300 piece starter set.

I'm on the fence in picking up a couple impact sets to flip seperately on eBay. The swivels go around $100 a set + and each other set is an easy $50, $800 should be average selling on them. That is before extensions and the gun!

I would let someone who needs the tools actually get the deal on it and not try flipping it to make some money.

Because their are people out there that actually could use the tools . Let them get the deal. I'm sure their has been times you have missed out on deals from other being greedy and trying to make a buck off them.

I see no problem with that. It would be nice if I could find someone to do that with the heavy duty set because they aren't available near me. I was just talking about those who clear out the clearance section and other great deals and put them on Ebay to make some cash.

Sounds like Wiggum could use the tools to make a buck. And maybe he'll use that buck to take his family to Disney, buy his kid new shoes for school or put food on the table.

if you are a shop your way rewards member they sent out a code for use for today only that takes an additional 10% off all sale and clearance items. Check your email for it. Will save you 50 bux off the impact set.

It already expired. I tried it and it didn't work. I couldn't get any coupons to work because its a closeout item.

Worked fine for me. Double check and make sure you didn't type it in wrong. It's a unique numeric code. I believe you have to be signed into your account.

Did anyone else order the Impact set and get the Compact 1/2" drive gun instead of the one pictured?
