That is why you should always check your wiring before you start a new tool.

Too many people just plug in their compressors in and expect it to be like a drill.

You should always check the wiring, oil level, fittings, blow off valve, and pressure switch before starting ANY new air compressor.
You got to set up an air compressor, they are not plug N' play.

You should also check everything on a schedule.
Daily: Oil level, and drain the tank of water.
Weekly: Wiring, air fittings and couplings and blow off valve.
Monthly: Oil, wiring, pressure switch, air filter(s), and rust.

The one he listed was an oil less. If you needed to do everything you llisted you may as well build one yourself. You don't know about the BOV or pressure switch until you get pressure on it. The factory that builds a small portable compressor like that needs to check the operation before it leaves the factory. Larger stationary compressors need to be set up.

It's more than likely something of a Chicken Little scenario, too. One post on an internet forum does not prove a history of product failure.

At some point, a motor has probably burned up on an IR compressor. One has probably burned up on a Quincy. It's probably happened on a Saylor Beall. Products fail sometimes.
