Found this on CL for $20. Owner says it is rusty and the chuck wobbles. I've never tried restoring anything like this. I'm not worried about the rust but not sure about the chuck being wobbly. I figure for $20 I would give it a shot. Is it worth the effort?

I'm personally not a huge fan of Craftsman drill presses, but you'll never get hurt for $20., that table is worth more than that. Chuck wobble could be a bent spindle, bad bearings, or bad chuck, all of which should be repairable with varying amounts of effort.
Good luck, Jim

It's worth a lot more in parts so pick it up and decide if it's worth fixing or parting out.

Eh, depends on how bad the chuck wobble is. If it needs a spindle, I'd pass. Parts and hassle is going to be a wash vs buying a more expensive machine from the get go. Med sized drill presses ain't exactly rare on the used market. If you are up for a project, go for it, just realize long term to get a good drill press it might not be the quickest, easiest or cheapest solution.

I'm supposed to pick it up today. I asked the owner for a model number but he didn't get back to me about one. Anyone possibly recognize this particular model? Anyway, I don't need a drill press immediately so if it takes time to repair then that is ok. I like my tools and equipment to be USA made if that is possible. I'm hoping/assuming that this one is but I'm not entirely sure.
