Greetings GJ,

If I may start off by thanking you for the body of knowledge and assistance the collective offers. This is only my third post because I have very little to offer that you masters haven't already forgotten. I am very mechanical and can build much however; not so much with automotive or machine work.
But I sure do appreciate the opportunity to read and soak up the information.

I am in the process of building out my shop. My tools are very basic. I bought a 120 piece CM set in 1978 along with a 3 piece CM red and grey common tool chest. Every piece except the 3/8 ratchet works and looks new. I use my stuff but I take really good care of it too. I will shoot some pictures of what I have going in future posts.

My question today is: where do I find a switch for the CM drill press? It is a bench top model and here are some pictures.

Thanks,
Griff

1/3 HP should draw less than 5 amps, so any 110v switch would work. I've seen light switches used in similar applications, although that wouldn't be my choice.

If you want to keep it original, you may be able to find a replacement switch at one of these sites:

I prefer a large stop button for my stationary tools. Something like one of these would work well; fab a small mounting plate and you're good to go. I'd choose the magnetic switch due to power outages (thanks PG&E!)

Thank you for the info. I'll shoot you a picture once it is up and running.
