Craftsman Gridner find....need info

I bought this Craftsman 1/3 HP grinder for $20 with extra stones and wire wheel.

it seems to work good but no on/off switch or guards. I will add switch.

are these decent grinders or worth messing with? I like older tools and like to somewhat restore it if worth it.

I'm gonna check some YouTube, but didn't know if any good threads on this.

They are very popular around GJ. I've got three set up with grinding/wire/polishing wheels and use them often. $20 is a good price for what you got

Yes, they are good grinders, heck most of the guys on here probably have one if they live in the states. Even though it is only rated at 1/3 hp, it is more than adequate for home use and FAR surpasses any modern chinese grinder with a similar rating.
Apparently, chinese horses are smaller than ours.

You will find more than you ever wanted to know about these grinders There is everything from repairs, replacement parts info, to restorations that look better than new. Yes, they are good grinders. I have the same one you just bought.

thanks I will definitely look it up. I wasn't 100% sure it consider a block grinder but thought it was.
