The local –Detroit area– Sears outlet stores have a large selection of made in the USA Craftsman Industrial tools. I picked up a metric and SAE 14 piece full polish wrench set for $75.00 each. Both included a nylon wrench roll. I was getting close to buying a set of Wright's but could not pass this deal up.

nice deal, those are straight jaws not a flank drive open end? They do look like the old USA made craftsman pros from armstrong.

Here we go again. So many tool sellers list them as Polish They are not form Poland. They are not Polish wrenches. One Polishes an object. The proer term sense it is the past tense would be Polished. It drives me crazy. Sorry It is not your fault but people that don't know English.

The other one that I want to shoot people over it Text and Texted. Texted it the past tense form of the word. I wish people would lear how to pronounce the word. They use it wrong in the news media, dancing with the stars and the list goes on.

While I am on it what is with the Yahoo news stories? They ramble on and on. They never get to the point. They have run non sentences and if you correct all that they till are ****.

I guess they are all the victoms of Public Education.

Sorry for hijacking your post. Nice score. I grew up in Detroit. That was when it was a very nice. It really was in the 50's and 60's.

Those are gonna be worth a small fortune someday when Craftsman is USA no more. I suggest that you keep the the cardboard shipping boxes as well - they'll just add to the value.

The lack of a 19mm wrench is the only thing that bugs me about the Metric set. I use that size all the time. I plan on checking Sears to see if they have a stray Professional left over.

You can get the 19mm off the craftsman pro line loose stock from any sears. They are still made in the USA.

The industrial will most likely stay made in the USA. Grainger is the big seller of them. And the industrial buyer have cheaper offshore option with westward made in taiwan. So for Craftsman to sell. It needs to be less then proto and higher grade then westward.

A bit ironic given your misuse of "sense", lear(n), and misspelling of victoms (victims). It took me a lot of work to override spell check whilst typing this. Hijack over

Anybody in Chicago want to pick me up a metric & standard set of the Pro wrenches from Sears Outlet for $20 a pop? I'd make it worth your while. :bounce:

Sears outlet in Indy is also loaded with Craftsman Industrial including this set. I picked up a 1/2" impact set for $40 (that included two 13/16 instead of one 13/16 and one 15/16  I was a little leery of buying the full polished set because they are just bouncing around in the cardboard box.

JonBoy you beat me to the punch. I was laughing as I read RC's response, but I think you missed some of his punctuation errors too. He likes to capatilize words that should not be capitalized. Also, in the second sentence, he says "form" Poland instead of "from" Poland. In the second paragraph, I think it's Dancing With The Stars. Those words are in caps because they refer to a proper name/title. Read RC's last sentence in the first paragraph a few times. What? That's not even a complete sentence. He also seems to have trouble substituting the word "it" for "is." (See the first and second sentences in paragraph two.) There's probably a few more errors but I'm laughing too hard to find them!

I think RC needs to "polish" up on his spelling and punctuation. A classic case of opening mouth and inserting foot!

Hey RC, "tanks For th english leson."

Amen to that!! This isn't the first time RC has gone off on a half baked rant. After awhile, you have to start reading his comments with an open mind, and then you'll come to realize that he's totally serious. That's what makes it so humorous.

*sigh*

It's garagejournal, not grammarjounal. The only person who cares if yuor grammar am moar gooder is you. Same goes fore speeling, improPer Capsitalation, usage of homophones, etc.
The polish/polished nitpick is old, two. Does anyone actually, seriously mistake a full set of polished wrenches to mean a set of polish manufacture? Evaryone noes a set of fully polished renches from Poland is called "Dubble Polish" wrenches.

You can get the 19mm off the craftsman pro line loose stock from any sears. They are still made in the USA.
The last two sears I was at, the professional open stock did not display "USA" on the wrench anymore. I did not inspect every wrench on the rack, but I looked at a handful from each location. None were to be found marked "USA"

if you aren't near a sears outlet you can actually find one you are closest to and order and they will ship the set(s) out to you. (shipping charges apply)

they have tons of "sets", some of the ratchets in the lower priced sets are crappy, lots of SAE stuff they are blowing out

i picked up a couple of things

My sears outlet Perrysburg Oh (Toledo), had a bunch... I dropped about $600 on various wrench sets. The 9 piece with pouch for $48 is a nice deal. Good Christmas gifts. They are certainly high quality.

Almost forgot,, thanks a bunch kngelv...!

This full polish (polished) Industrial stuff started showing up in the Greensboro NC Outlet about three weeks ago. (I know 'cause I troll weekly. Their trucks come once a week.) All great stuff USA made and a big selection of wrenches, sockets and full mechanics sets of varying piece size/price. All 50% off. I bought to fill much of the voids in my stuffed box. I even got my son (3 years old) a small mechanics set so he would have his own USA stuff someday. I'm keeping all my tools forever don't ya' know.

I just went up to my sears outlet and they also had a bunch of industrial stuff there. I got the 14 piece polished chrome wrenches with the pouch. What a great deal! I got the last of the sae and they had it priced wrong so I paid 75 for the metric and 51 for the SAE. I had to put up a little bit of fight but since there was not another set they let it go.

My dad actually paid the bill he was with me and needed some Christmas present ideas. I might go back up and buy another tool set. There was also a set of hex drives that the tag was faded so it looked like it read 8.x9 but it should have read 28.99 tried to get those for 8.99 but he wouldn't go for it because the tag was faded but the tag on the wrenches was it was just wrong.
Anybody have an idea why there selling these off so cheap?

he tried this polish/polished **** when he first joined GJ, i shut him down, and pointed out his horrible use of the english language... and he keeps on.

"polish" is just as correct as "polished".... read a book once in a while... or a tool catalog. depending on context, a word can have multiple pronunciations and meanings. polish is one of those words.

ever see a can of chrome polish? its not "chrome polisher" and it definitely aint from poland....

victoms of public education..... :spit:

Look, if we pile on too much, RC will stop posting. Do we really want that? This guy is a gem, and a rare source of true entertainment. He's so serious about some of the half baked, unedited, unresearched stuff he says, it's comical. His post in this thread is proof. Don't get mad at him, just play along and enjoy the show.

Anyone know if open stock CM Prof long pattern metric is still USA at sears.com? I'd like to fill in some blanks on the metric combo set. (7, 8 and 19)

In my area yes. You can also try zoro tools for missing sizes too.

Thanks for the heads up about these wrenches. I picked up a metric set today.
