Hi everyone,
I recently picked up this motor at an estate sale but it needs major work. The cord and switch are missing. I’m planning
on trying to put it back to safe working condition but don’t really know what in doing. This is my first restoration attempt.
I currently have it disassembled and the cast parts bathing in soapy water in my crockpot. I’m trying to remove the painted parts without damaging the original finish. I would like to save the original finish so it can match my Early 1940’s drill press. It has a newer style motor that I would like to replace it with this one. To keep it all period correct.
That part I will need help with the most is the wiring. I can’t seems to find a diagram and since wires were cut, I don’t know where they go.
Is it worth saving?
If anyone who has restored one can chime in or lead me in the right direction. I would greatly appreciated. Thank you all and keep those post coming. I enjoy reading about everyone’s cool tools. I will post plenty of pics.

Mine does come with a capacitor. I hope it works.
