pic? the USA polished ratchet wrenches were primo i believe. one of my local stores has full opens tock of the old USA ratcheting wrenches, but all sets have been chinese for years.

i want the USA versions.

i have a couple older RP ratcheting combos, very coarse and not smooth at all, and the design allows them to totally freewheel if you put pressure on them at a certain angle.

Yea. I have those to.I have offset, flat too. I know why I don't love mine. They just don't fit the hand very comfortably. They're all hard edges. No big deal, but there's nothing to love about them. They do work ,they were relatively cheap. And they used to be the only ones craftsman had. That's why I picked up a set. Didn't use them that often. When craftsman came out with the newer stuff, I bought a set, wondered how I ever got by without them. It's my own fault, for having crazy ideas about my matching tools. Having non matching just feels wrong somehow. Well I'll just have to get over it. Buying American is more important to me. Also lifetime guarantee very important. If a **** tool breaks and they replace it with more of the same. What's the point.?

Don't get rid of your gearwrenches. Theyre a lot better then those, and the ones your showing won't get into tight places. I always found them to to be clunky..

They are clunky but seem to be alot stronger.
Is it hard to find the american made ones now? Armstrong or craftsman?

In stores, sets of USA Cman will be hard to find. They can still be found on ebay.

As much as I'd like to replace my Gearwrench with some USA Craftsman, I never will because Cman didn't make complete sets. They only offered the more common sizes. Any other USA-made brands cost too much.

This is not the USA item you want in your box. After using them you'll know why. Even snap on ratchet wrenches aren't USA.

Who told you that? The matco man?

That old school style of ratcheting wrench is obsolete if you ask me. Uncomfortable, coarse tooth, too large. I gave mine away to a friend with a limited tool collection.

after reading this thread, i reached for my 10mm one earlier... after two turns, grabbed my gearwrench flexhead... quicker, quieter, more comfortable, and the head flexes!

Lol I can't stand that style. Hard on the hands and they fit into tight spaces not so well.

My box is full of blue point and snap on one of the few off brand things in my box is my gearwrench flex head ratchet wrenches. I absolutely love those wrenches. They work flawlessly and they are smooth. Lol my 13mm got abused pretty badly one time when I used it to hold a bolt while I had an impact gun on the other end. I've really torqued those wrenches though on lots of occasions and I love them. The ratchet end is thin to so they fit everywhere unlike those chunky blue point ones. I really want to get the short flex head gearwrench ratchet wrenches next.

I have snap on flank drive plus wrenches that I love as well. But when it comes to a ratchet wrench there isn't much that compares to the gear wrench flex head. I wouldn't only rely on these wrenches but like I said as far as the ratchet end goes they are above and beyond.

There is absolutely no sense on anyone who does any amount of work on cars to not at least have one set of sae and metric considering the flex models go on sale for $29.99 a few times a year. Gotta say, the flexes are probably one of the best additions to my box.
