I got a Craftsman set on sale for $20. Otherwise, I would have bought the Wilde labeled set, for $30, instead of the Craftsman labeled set, for $40. I'm talking about the regular set, not the Professional, but mine are awesome.

Unless you use them ALL the time, I wouldn't pay that much extra, for the comfy handles.

As far as the quality of the regular Craftsman/Wilde set, it has been fantastic. I highly recommend them.

fifty seams high to me, but I don't use mine professionally,
If you are using them professionally go for it, I have the regular set and like them. No problems.

Currently come up as $44.99 at the local Sears. Check to see what they run near you. They are excellent prybars. Mine have been to hell and back working in diesel and generators, and haven't broken one yet.

Yeah, here's a set of those for $35 shipped on ebay.

Good bars but that price is full retail (?ish). If you have the $50, suggest to buy orginal Mayhew versions from Amazon.

No. Either buy the current craftsman striking pry bar set or look for a Mayhew dominator set. $50 for the old style craftsman professional 3 piece set is too expensive to me.

I've picked up a couple sets of the Craftsman Professional when they were on sale. I think they were $25 or $30 for the set. The standard ones frequently go on sale for $20 and are very good. I don't think the Professional set is worth twice as much.

I have the same set. I wouldn't pay $50. At most $30. You can pick up the regular set for $19 regularly which is almost as nice.

I wouldn't pay 50 either. I did pay 45 though.:dunno::beer:

As was noted, they are on "sale" for 45 at my Sears. 5 less than the Dominators I guess.

Me too
For the price diff you can ad the new striking cap 31" bar to the 3 bar set that goes on sale for 19.99.

I'd caution that some people report that the new striking cap bars are not the same underlying quality as either the old hardhandles or the professionals

so in bar quality (not handle quality)

cman pro/mayhew
old wilde/hardhandle
new cman strikin caps

all that for full disclosure being said, I have used the striking feature of my prybars alot in the last month...cannot think of a time I did not need to hit it with a hammer, actually

of course YMMV and maybe some people have different views they can post up...

ultimately ya'll individually places your moneys and you makes your your bets :pimpflash

I got these on sale for $30 back at the end of last year. I love these things and would gladly pay $50 if they didn't go on sale for $30 occasionally. Since they do, I'd probably wait and buy them when they were on sale or when I had shop your way points.

The regular set for $20 is also a decent deal if you don't use them a lot. My larger prybar is that style and it works fine, but I don't like the handle at all. It feels too small to me and it's hard for me to get a good grip when prying on things. I strongly prefer the professional series.
