So after joining this site to look at floor coatings I've become addicted.

I was looking at replacing my screwdrivers as I build out my tool set. After looking through threads and searching I was going to buy some Wera screwdrivers but I thought I'd check out my local Sears store for a sale first. They had a box full of random professionals series screwdrivers for $2.99 each so I picked through and found 30 different ones.. Only thing I couldn't find was the stubs. I'll take a pic later.

2.99/pc a decent price??

I don't remember how much I paid but I purchased a few of them a while back. My local store had a bunch of them in a clearance section like you described. They did not last long and people must have bought them up quickly. I saw some on Sears.com a few days ago but some of the other guys said they were on sale in the outlet stores near them.

I have the black rubber handled ones from some time ago, and those are among my favorites. I do normally reach for the "regular" Craftsmans though.

What do the black rubber ones look like? I tried assembling a set of Craftsman Professional tools a while back. It has the screwdrivers, pliers, and wrenches, etc. in it.

Usually I like to use the regular Craftsman screwdrivers also.

I think he is referring to these:

These can be found labeled as either Industrial or Professional. There were also high visibility (orange) variants which can be seen in this thread: Orange Craftsman Professional Screwdrivers!

You've got ninety bucks ******* in thirty screwdrivers...

That's robbery...compared to the original asking price at Sears...

$ 429.99 for the set with the Professional Pliers...

Or...

$ 269.99 for the 106 pc Set...

I never knew the black handled screwdrivers existed until a few months ago, now I have two sets. Really haven't had a chance to use them yet, but they seem like a great driver.

Also bought about 10 of the red and blacks off the Black Friday sale.

I think I'm covered .:lol_hitti

Yes, these are the ones I'm talking about. I have a set of six I bought new and some other "open stock" ones I picked up over the years.

My main "go to" screwdrivers are the regular Craftsmans.
