The Craftsman Professional tools are long gone aside from the crazies on Ebay asking often often crazier prices for some of the stuff.
I never really cared for the last version of the Craftsman Professional screwdrivers though, didn't care for the handle. I think my favorite version were the black hex shaped blades with the orange tapered hard handle. they were easier to see than the all black version.
I also liked the Armstrong made long pattern fully polished combination wrenches. Luckily, i have more than a couple of sets to last me forever.
The ratchets really weren't anything to write home about but, some people like them. I thought their balance was off.
As for the V series being the best thing since sliced bread, that's a matter of opinion. To me they were never the equal of a tool truck brand but, they were pretty good in their day. I think the mystique about the V series is that the later models of US made Craftsman tools weren't as good as the V series.
