While cleaning up an older 40" ball bearing bottom box (red with gray drawers) I purchased today, a thought struck me. Older boxes have more scrapes, scuffs and possibility for paint flaking and loss than newer boxes.
Why doesn't Sears stock rattle cans the color of their tool boxes? Would the company that actually makes the boxes prohibit Sears from selling the paint? It would be much easier for me to walk into the local store and buy a couple of cans than it would be for me to try and match the color on the drawers.
Or could this be a case of liability on Sears behalf stocking rattle cans, whereas their insurance might prohibit it?
Anyone out there know the paint code for their gray tool box drawers?
