I know, I already started a thread about my Craftsman tools earlier, but I can’t seem to find any info on this ratchet, at least not with this switch on it, any help would be greatly appreciated. The switch looks newer than the ratchet.

Someone attempted to install a quick release gear into a 'Flying V' handle, likely due to not having the proper replacement gear.

The switch is for the flex head series.

Do you know why they did that? Is it because the regular "baby rattle" selector would interfere with the flex?

If you had a broken selector, and a older or malfunctioning ratchet with a good selector, and could make one that worked, why not?
Most likely, it was a convenient readily available piece to replace a broken selector, which happened frequently. (particularly when some numbskull you loan it to uses your ratchet as a hammer).

That's why I don't lend tools to my friends....because I tend to lose them as friends. :(

If anyone has a selector I can have/buy let me know.
I wanna make the ratchet look original again.

Someone should put that ratchet with a mismatched selector out of its misery.
