every time a newb bumps a 3 year old thread, a kitten dies

3? this threads 6 years old. I guess there weren't enough Craftsman hate threads created in this year alone that he felt he just had to pick a 6 year old thread to make his comment in. :wtf:

snap on tools break just like any other. my cousin is an airline mechanic got a set set of metric wrench off the snap on guy and the 15mm broke that day. i use a mix of stuff Sk, gearwrench, Carlyle , old craftsman, harbor freight, sunex and others i don't use truck brands and i never will . why would i when sk and gearwrench will do the same thing as snap on but for less then half the price.

Apparently yes. I'm staying out of it.

I will say that the midlife-crisis posers on Harleys crack me up, too.

Totally! Around here they are thick as flies. When I see the midlife crisis bunch riding with white beards blowing in the wind and a vest not quite making it around the potbelly- I refer to the bike as a Santa scooter.

As much as I like good tools, I try to keep in mind that they exist for one reason... to make me money. Spending huge amounts of money on them doesn't get me ahead in this regard, neither does buying junk that doesn't stand up. I don't have any brand loyalty, I don't buy brands I buy products. I've got litteraly dozens of brands in my toolbox, but IMO I've got great tools, some were expencive, some were cheap, but all my tools are good and they do their job, make me money.

Exophyusical, sounds like you and I are on the same page. IF I had a brand preference, it would be SK or Channellock, I have a soft spot for them. Everything else, is just a tool. Just about everyone including Stanley makes a decent wrench or socket these days.

LOL I once pointed out to my neighbor that gainfully employed middle aged men who like to pretend they are a bunch of jobless rejects are roughly the equivilant of those privileged white kids from the suberbs that like to pretend they are black. He hasn't spoke to me a whole lot since then.

You make a good point, I apologize. I must have been in a **** mood that day.

My jackassery was in response to posers like Exophyusical points out. I love your analogy, sir.

There's nothing wrong with someone enjoying their hobbies.
