I tossed my Digital calipers up for sale for 100 a while back. I got an offer for 20 and I would have to deliver almost an hour away. How could I resist?

Im not a expert on what signs go for but I think the Goodyear sign is priced accordingly.... I posted the second link because it gives his address. If you put his address into google street view you'll see that he seems to be a............. "interesting" person to talk to. I think the pegasus signs are priced WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too high. Just my opinion....

FWIW The gas/oil sign market appears to have gone crazy as of late.

I see those identical Pegasus signs go for $7 - $9K on a regular basis. Yeah, I think it's nuts, too.

I bought a mint unused lighted Sunoco sign for my garage two years ago for $600, and now I see them for $2000 and over. :headscrat

This guy's been trying to sell these for months. The prices keep coming down. I think he started at $60 for each.

25 inch Pittsburgh breaker bar, now for $40. 19.99 at HF.

https://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/tls/d/tools-pittsburgh-pro-25-inch/6672221907.html

Pittsburgh 1/2" extendable ratchet, now at $45. $17.99 at HF.

https://atlanta.craigslist.org/nat/tls/d/tools-175-extendable/6662410850.html

There is a person on the Grand Rapids area Craigslist that regularly lists Harbor Freight tools for twice what they cost to go to HF and buy them. Most notable was the used Predator 8750 generator he had listed for $1200 when it can be purchased at HF for $599. Also see the free give-aways for sale on CL. Dream on.....

A seller near Buffalo is asking $5000 for an Asian import mill/drill machine with some carbide cutters. Here is the add:

https://buffalo.craigslist.org/tls/d/select-vertical-manual/6706877700.html

"Excellent condition. Model 0B. Includes collets and many accessories. This is a great deal! Perfect for home shop. You must carefully remove it from basement. See pictures. There is as least $10 - 15k worth of tooling and carbide end mills that are included. It is currently bolted on to a cement pillar, but easily removable. This a package deal, not separating, no cherry picking."

If he removed a zero from his price he might actually sell it.

Actually I see more scum lowballing Craigslist buyers then dreamer sellers.. After using Craigslist to sell couple of items... I now hate human kind... People are really scum which destroy Yur outlook on the good buyers... But man.. Where the hell do these buyers come from..no regard for time, price, or promises and much less shady people who want delivery at bottom scum lowballing price, after millions of stupid question, only to be lowballers at the end..
Ebay and Amazon is much better then dealing with these subhuman lifeforms

Scanning through craigslist today, I saw some of the same junk that's been on for at least a year and I wondered, "Who has time to move a half dozen **** listings to the top of the page every third day?" That's a hundred times a year he/she's moved that listing and it may never sell at the asking.

There's no prohibition against continually listing the same item, so flagging it is not really within the guidelines, but maybe craigslist should consider software which would delete a listing after ** days.

In some areas, CL ads expire after 7 days, other areas it's 30 days. We're in a 7 day area and you can only renew so many times before CL won't let you renew and you have to repost.

A year is nothing. There's a few guys in Chicago that have been posting the same ad for over FIVE years! I know because I remember to rib them about their unsold/unaltered ads around Christmas time every year:

Just to name a few....

Yup, I thought the same thing just yesterday. I have a few saved searches on Craigslist that haven't changed for the last three or four years (I like to track buying/selling prices of vehicles I've owned/sold or that I want to buy), and about 70% of the results are for items/services completely unrelated to my search criteria.

Some of these ads have been there as long as I have been searching CL, and they never change. We're not talking high-dollar items, either - $5 magazines (mostly old Playboys), old crappy furniture, etc. And yet, as you say, they repost them every four or five days; what a sad commentary if this is a life priority. And why do they feel the need to populate their ads with a boatload of keywords that are completely unrelated and just load up my search results with totally irrelevant ****.

And don't get me started on the ones who place a one-line ad for an old 'vintage' (read: wrecked, rusted & ruined) car with an outrageous asking price and NO PICTURES!!!

OK, rant off.

This guy lives near my local HF. He buys a couple of the 4 drawer carts when they are on super sale, takes them home and assembles them. He then removes the original logos and slaps on some home made inkjet labels. More of a scammer but definitely a dreamer as the same ads have been up for years. Sometimes I get bored so I make a post using his images but with the current HF pricing and a link to the website.

The value in that table is actually it's usability. I've been shopping for a woodworkers bench to use with hand tools. Grizzly sells a unit that is bigger than that brand new for $1000. Even the top of the line Lie Nielson table brand new is only $2500. He's off his rocker.
The Lie Nelson doesn't have the "patina". LOL!! There are actually TV shows where they repurpose flea market **** into restyled **** and sell it for big bucks. Something is worth what somebody is willing to pay for it.

Got $5,000 burning a hole in your pocket? Need a old shot backhoe? Surely there are stumps that need pulled somewhere?

https://springfield.craigslist.org/hvo/d/springfield-backhoe-1971-ih-3800d/6819326441.html

IH backhoe.jpg

1971 3800D IH payloader Hoe
Rear articulated
rough all around
I fill the tires up and they hold about a day.
The hydraulic has gotten really slow.
The engine is okay but the transmission is dicey.
No brakes
The steering seal leaks and now the steering is barely there.

He needs help but he was running strong up until this winter. Hoses are 50/50 recent/old.

If you just need a cheap entry into a backhoe that a few thousand dollars and your shop work will get you something that will do large jobs on the farm... this is it.
If you are looking for DOT work you need to ignore this post. This is an extremely rare beast.

Priced at salvage.
Don't make me give this to my brother in law. I sold the farm and you need to buy by Feb 17 or it will be on its way to TN.

There’s a guy in Buffalo selling a number of different lathes, and here is one of them:

https://buffalo.craigslist.org/tls/d/buffalo-stark-lathe/6875738065.html

In case the ad disappeahrs here is the text from it:

Stark Lathe 3 1/2 model for sale. This is in such great shape it almost seems unused and has got some really interesting accessories. The negative is there are no chucks cross slide or collets. Includes headstock, tailstock, bed, lever slide rest, tailstock, overhead drive, grinding spindle, grinding tailstock, combo tool post, 2 regular tool posts and more

Contact me for a url to d/l a complete set of pics.

Note: Lathe is located in Welland Ont
Thanks!

How exactly are you supposed to use a Lathe with no cross slide, collets, or chucks?? And this particular Lathe can only use collets that were specifically made by Stark, a company that went out of business in the 1950s. You won’t even find those collets on EBay. For $1300 I think we can do a little better!

I told him I'd give him 30.00 and he's not going to get big money for it like he thinks.

The No. 1200 "Plane-r-file" with the red handles is from the Miller's Falls "Buck Rodgers" line of woodworking tools. It may be worth $30 to a collector who's missing that one example from his collection. They're neat, but I don't know how collected they are. I think the No. 709 smooth plane is the only desirable item from their Buck Rodgers series.

Oh Yeah, I had one of those Buck Rodgers smooth planes one time.
Darn, I forgot all about them.
Funny how our mind works (or don't work)
Think I ended up putting it on e bay.
Don't remember what I got for it.
