Also, I need to find tool to remove the chuck from the spindle. Anyone improvised one, or will I just end up damaging the machine?

Thanks. I ordered one and it should be here any day now. Im just waiting for it so I cant take the other quill bearing off, and be done with the quill reassembly.

I have the exact same press. But mine has the powerfeed option.
Mine is circa 1953.
When I cleared out that old machine shop earlier this year there were 3 of those disassembled.. think they went into storage...
