maybe it's just me,
but i'm not seeing $50K let alone the $100K he claims to have "invested"
On a wild guess; I believe He is the type of person who knows that everyone is going to believe everything He states.
On a second wild guess: He believes anything He owns does not decline in value or suffers from years of normal use.
i think your 2nd wild guess is spot on...
so many people have the word "investment" on the mind....
$100K in tools are an investment, but not in the way to make your money back.
my "working" tools were an investment in my future, i bought "the good stuff" almost from the beginning mainly so i wouldnt make the mistake of buying a piece of **** tool, having it fail (repeatedly) and to deal with it for my entire "career" or ultimately put out more hard earned cash for something better.
if i put everything together, "working tools", "garage tools" and the rest of my "stuff", i'd be in the $100k range to replace it all.
in the real world i'd be lucky to get $20K...
i know several people that think everything they have is gold plated, stuff thats been sitting neglected & unused for over 15 years, and is just rusting away....
