Anyone try these or know if they come in Craftsman or Channellock brand? I needed some long reach needle nose the other day and just saw these in an email I got after the job was done. :willy_nil

So TSC has their Jobsmart version for $19.99. They call them Double X, I wonder if same factory?

Lowe's has been clearancing them at $14.99 for a two pack. I bought them last week. They seem OK, nothing special.

There are two different sets of these, the ones Lowes has on clearance is the old design to make way for the stock of the new design. Other than different color handles...no clue the difference.

Are they Kobalt or ?

I got the Crescent version thru Amazon recently with the "coupon" putting the pair at $17.99. I actually think its a really good idea and will be very useful once in awhile, but not really a must-have.

I have the Crescent version (from the Sears hot deal) - it kicks ***! - I actually dragged a car across a parking lot with one of these clamped on to an alternator bracket. I realize that is not the intended usage, but the strength and grip amazed me!

An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
Check out Cripe Distributing, they have NAPA branded versions of these pliers for very low prices. I have Crescent versions (in my musky tackle box), NAPA versions at work and Gearwrench at home and even though I've not done a microscopic analysis / comparision I think they are all the same short of the handle / grips. The Gearwrench double X snap ring pliers have saved my *** a few times working on some hydraulic fittings in recesses where snap rings were used to hold couplings / connections in equipment recesses.

No, they are Crescent, just blue handled instead of red.

One of my local stores had them for 11.99 for the pair

They want 18 bucks to ship though.

yes, Cripe is expensive for just one item, the trick is to save up a list of items, I have ordered like 30 items from them in one bulk order and the shipping was only like $20

also, if you call them, they will generally give you at least a 10% discount on the full order, sometimes more, this helps defray shipping cost.

Interesting. Big difference between $20 and the $50 or $60 the GW set goes for.

Sears in my area had these for cheap last year (whatever the brand they were selling them under) for like $14.99 for the set then clearanced them out after New Year for like $10 or something.

Ive had the crescents for a couple months now. Used them a few times for long reach in tight spaces to pick stuff up. They are awesome for that task and have decent grip and decent quality. Definately worth having around. I picked up mine at sears for 10 after some surprise points.

I have the original pat pending version from almost 10 years ago. I'll have to find them and see who the manufacturer was.
