I know there are a lot of mechanics here, but perhaps there are a few carpenters, as well? If so, has anyone here used a Crick level? Here is the website:

http://www.cricktool.com/

Solid wood, made in the USA, they look beautiful from the pictures...but they are not cheap. Anyone ever laid their hands on one? Used one? Thinking about pulling the trigger....

"Crick level?" Hmmm.... where I come from, when someone talks about "crick level," they are referring to how deep the water is in the local stream!

LOL. :lol_hitti

i have used them. a large part of their customer base is from masons. they are excellent quality. but u might find the weight cumbersome for general use. i would recommend stabila levels. starrett also makes some nice ones that stand out in a crowd.

Crick is nice and made in the USA which I like, however I do not think anyone touches the Stabillas. Damn Germans

@ Lump: Its that way down south of the Mason-Dixon, too! Haha

Thanks to everyone else for making my decision even harder

USA Crick vs. German Stabila. Guess I can't go wrong either way!

I've got a half dozen Stabila levels between 16", 24" 48", 59", and a couple of magnetic torpedoes. Pricey - Yes. Dead on accurate - Every Time.

My 3 good levels are all wood and older than me...

the 4 footer is "cased' in brass, the 2 footer has brass caps. I can't find the shorter one just now...
