Who likes the cushioned ratchets.. I have never owned or used one. Are they worth the extra money vs the same model with the reg grip.. im looking at 2 snap on ratchets and don't know what way to go..

only time i really like them is in cold weather,
easier to handle with gloves on, and the cold doesnt travel into my fingers as fast.

all my cushion grip ratchets are beat up pretty bad

I like the chrome because you can polish them and wipe them down. I had two cushion ratchets and got rid of them because the handles turned black from grease and the rubber started to break down.

almost all my ratchets are comfort grip except craftsman premiums and a matco 15" 3/8 and thats because there are no comfort grips available. I've never had a problem cleaning them after use. You can take chunks out of them if you smash them but thats to be expected. I dont know what people are talking about that they retain grease. Snap-Ons arent even porous. Its more like a rubber. That said i also dont soak them in buckets of used oil so perhaps if someone did that often they wouldnt like them.

Heres a go-to 1/4" of mine. Its been blackened many times, generally from rust and road crud from my hand and whatever gets into the penetrating oils on parts im handling. Cleans up great. When it does get destroyed enough, which is eventuallity, well then thats what the warranty is for.

Get both!!! Some days you might like the feel of chrome and other days you might like the feel of plastic/rubber.

I like comfort grips and some hard handles. I do feel though that no one brand does it right though. Some are just too big and bulky. The Snap on shape is great but, the rubber stays dirty when it gets dirty and is a little on the fragile side, tearing easily. Matco has a nice grip but, i feel it's too big in 1/2 drive but, that's just me.
If a tool truck brand was smart, they would take the Mac red rectangular screwdriver handle material (the stuff with a little grain to it so it doesn't slip when covered in ATF) and make in the shape of the current snap on comfort grip handle. I think then we would have a winner.:rocker:
