Besides the high dollar cutters, what can the DIY guy use to make simpler?

Pair of 9" side cutters or hacksaw, sawzall. Separate the wires and cut them individually.

I was thinking sawzall or metal chop saw! Took kid 10 minutes out in freezing cold at Menards to cut with bolt cutters!

I have a pair of ratchet Greenlee cutters that I use, they work great, but were a little pricey. Maybe check e-bay for a bargain.

Electrician installed my 200 amp panel, meter base and weatherhead today. Used a sawzall to cut the feed wires.

Angle grinder. Probably overkill, but it'll work. If you don't have a pair of cutters like the ones above, a tree pruner would probably work too.

I used a "branch lopper" You know, the kind used to trim small branches off of trees ? They cut through it like butter ( all four aluminum wires ).
