I went to a local cement company and picked up a 2'x2' block to put down in front of the service door, the ground was really soft...

Looks great. Same colors I used on mine. Painted my garage door to match wainscoting. You would be surpiised how much better it looks.
Great looking barn! Certainly a lot of potential with that kind of square footage. Curious, how long will a tank that size (120 gallons) last, heating that amount of space, at a modest temperature?

Oh your posting after the fact and it's all done?
Congrats I will be following along with this one!
Here I thought this was current and gonna give you props for a mid winter build!
Still very nice work for a Bears fan!
From a cheese head!
Yep temps only in single digits at my house today!
Yeah, he had me fooled for a second. I thought maybe he started that a week or two ago! I live in central Illinois... Friday was beautiful here (well, as beautiful as it can be in the winter). It was about 50 degrees, dry, no snow piles anywhere, and no wind. The Saturday, the temps plummeted, the rain turned to ice, and then the snow. Now... it looks completely miserable and it's about six degrees, and thirty mile an hour winds.
I'm anxious to see more pics and hear more of the build story, though!

Who here, can resist a good build story with pics?Wanna Ride
Thanks for checking it out! Glad I'm not out there this week working on it, The lows are in the single digits and we have 30 mph winds Brrrrrrrr![]()
Who here, can resist a good build story with pics?
As for the OCD about the site mess... haven't you been here long enough to know that about 90% of us here, have OCD?

When I first started here I didn't know squat about pole barn construction. As a SoCal born and raised child of the Great Generation who became the only tradesman/contractor in the entire family, I didn't run into this type of build anywhere I (emphasize "I") went. What a great way to build an outbuilding. And this one looks particularly good.
If I put that on my city lot I'd have to buy the neighbor's house and tear it down.
Making good progress on dabarn!
Is this right next to your house?
I would have been itchin that first winter to just have the framing up but no roof on it!
Though the cold temps would have kept me indoors as well!
From my build the first pic was how mine stood for the first winter!

very nice pics and its a quick walk from the house to the shop which is good when you need the restroom real quick but bad when the wife needs to find you!
very nice pics and will be waiting for what the inside looks like!
what have you done or what are the plans?
you can post on your own schedule don't have to cater to my request's but Ill be following along!
Bears fan here as well! Nice looking homestead. Spent a lot of summer days in New Buffalo at my cousins farm. Always enjoyed that area.

So does the store owner know his sign is on your barn? Or are you letting it cool down a bit before hanging it up LOL
Just found your thread and like your little piece of heaven. A 30 X 40 is a nice size to work in
Good luck with it
Don
